Zoe Saldana Latina Magazine September 2011 Cover is set to hit newsstands on August 16. In this issue Saldana is interviewed and talks about all kinds of different topics ranging from her fame to her relationship with actor Keith Britton. Below are a few of the main topics in the Latina magazine spread devoted to sexy Saldana:
Saldana sky rocketed up the fame pole for her role on Avatar. When asked on how she was dealing with her newfound fame: “The year after Avatar was just emotionally overwhelming. I was traveling all over the world, waking up in different time zones. Your body gets exhausted, and by the end of the year I just collapsed.”
Saldana was becoming exhausted due to traveling and working so much. She felt that she was slowly breaking down and she could not afford that to happen. “I was in Paris training for Colombiana, sitting in my hotel room, and I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t stay awake. I must have slept for an entire month. It took me the rest of the year, even as I was working and shooting Colombiana, to pick myself up. Thank God my family was there.”
Saldana loves being a home body and living her life like a regular normal person. She loves to garden, watch the Food network show, and receive notes from her nieces and nephews. As for her career, she wants filmmakers to recognize her for her talents and loves receiving the recognition to which is what she appreciates the most.
Saldana admits to having a small circle of friends and that she prefers it that way. “If you surround yourself with good people, if you’re having a bad day – which everyone does – they will protect you, and it will never reach any kind of surface. But if you surround yourself with people who don’t really love you and care for you, they’ll be the first ones to expose you. That’s dangerous.”
Saldana has been in a 12 year relationship with actor Keith Britton. That is pretty amazing that these two haven’t been in the media for having a bad “Hollywood” relationship. They have made it through all the taboo that deals with celebrity relationships. When asked about it in the magazine she responded with, “I think the only reason we’ve made it this long is because we don’t listen to anybody but ourselves. We’ve still managed to sustain a relationship in a world where half of the people we know are divorcing or going through problems. It’s like that song we both love by Frank Sinatra – we did it our way!”
Check out her new action packed flick schedule to hit theaters August 26, 2011.
