The 1990's hit series will make a TV come back on Fox: In Living Color original cast.
In Living Color-the show which launched the careers of Jim Carey, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Lopez not to mention the show’s creator Keenan Ivory Wayans, is set to make a huge TV come back. The 1990s sketch comedy is set to be remade on Fox with a cast of young, up-and-coming comedians, next year. Wayans, who was one of the original In Living Color cast-members has signed on to host and executive produce the reboot, according to Deadline.
Fox initially brings the hit show’s come back to help celebrate the network’s 25th anniversary, with the airing of two half-hour specials sometime in the spring. Though there has been no word of anyone from the original cast making an appearance, it wouldn’t be out of the question for any of them to stop by and reprise a character or just show support for the series’ come back.
The original In Living Color series aired for five seasons, ending its run in May 1994. The series also launched the careers of comedians of Wayans’ siblings, Damon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans and Marlon Wayans and David Alan Grier. Jennifer Lopez served as one of the Fly Girls on the hit show.
The show’s musical acts provided much of mainstream America with its first exposure to hip-hop music. In Living Color was cutting-edge and controversial during its five-year run and provided a powerful launching pad for comedy talent. A great show that truly deserves a great come back!
