Robin Gibb the Bee Gees star is fighting liver cancer.

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb is reportedly battling liver cancer, and has recently cancelled several public appearances. He has been undergoing treatment for the disease for several months, and is now being cared for by his wife Dwina.

Robin Gibb, 61, has appeared in public looking increasingly frail. According to reports he was rushed to hospital earlier this week following an emergency call made from his home. The Bee Gees singer spent five hours in hospital before being allowed home where he was joined by his 91-year-old mother Barbara, and older brother Barry, who has flown in from the US to be with him.

“Robin is not good and there is a lot of concern for him.You can use your wealth to call in the best experts but sometimes no amount of fame, prestige and money can change things when it comes to cancer.”-a friend of Robin Gibb told Sunday Mirror.

Last October the Bee Gee had surgery on his intestine, following the same medical emergency that took the life of his twin brother Maurice eight years ago, and he cancelled a US tour this April due to extreme stomach pain. Recently Robin Gibb discussed his struggle to come to terms with his brother’s death describing his passing as “something I haven’t accepted.”

”I just imagine he is out there somewhere and I will bump into him one day.”-the singer who’s battling cancer added.

The Bee Gees disbanded after Maurice’s death, having sold 200 million records. The brothers had lost sibling Andy in 1988, aged 30. He had struggled with cocaine addiction.
