MTV Video Music Awards best moments and winners!
It was definitely ladies night at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
So who were the night’s big winners?
Katy Perry who won three Moon Men (her first-ever) including Video of the Year for “Firework“.

And Britney Spears who arned a major achievement award and hasn’t yet turned 30, along with the Best Pop Video Award for “Till The World Ends“.
The biggest surprise, and maybe the best moment on the MTV Video Music Awards, was Beyonce‘s announcement that she and rapper Jay-Z are expecting their first child.
The night’s emotional highlight came when Russel Brand took the stage to make a tribute to the late British singer, Amy Winehouse.

Among the MTV Video Music Awards winners: Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber (with girlfriend Selena Gomez)

Big reason for big smile: Katy Perry's five number one singles equal Michael Jackson's record.
Katy Perry has become the first woman to have five number one singles from the same album on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Her latest song ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’ made history as it became her fifth single from platinum record ‘Teenage Dream’ to reach the top spot, after the success of ‘California Gurls‘, ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘Firework’ and ‘E.T.‘
The late pop legend Michael Jackson achieved the same record when his album Bad featured five number one singles between 1987 and 1988 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Katy Perry must be really proud being compared to the King of Pop.
“What a way to wake up! SO proud to announce that the little-engine-that-could of a song ‘LAST FRIDAY NIGHT’ is officially #1 & made HISTORY! (sic)”-she wrote on her Twitter account to announce the great news.
Katy Perry later praised her fans for helping her become the first woman in music to equal Michael Jackson’s record.
“& u know, I couldn’t have done it with out ya, really I owe u guys BIG… so take this moment to give yourself a high FIVE!!! #allbecauseofu (sic)”-she added afterwards.
Katy Perry's fun-loving music made a record that only Michael Jackson has done it before.
