
The nude Kate Moss portrait will be auctioned on 17 November in London.
One of Kate Moss‘ favourite black and white nude portraits of herself is expected to sell for £18,000 at Bonhams auction in London next week. Albert Watson‘s candid portrait of the supermodel taken at the end of a day’s shoot on a Marrakech roof top in 1993, when she agreed to let Watson take some nude shots.
“At the end of a day shooting on a roof-top in Marrakech, Watson suggested he create nude photographs of Kate Moss and she happily obliged.”-Bonhams said.
Watson described this nude portrait, part of a series, as “among the best pictures ever taken of her,” adding the catwalk queen had said so herself recently.Other photographs of Kate Moss will be included in the auction, including one by the late photographer Corinne Day, who is widely credited with launching Kate’s modelling career.
A David LaChapelle portrait of Courtney Love and Andre de Dienes picture of Marilyn Monroe, taken in a Bel Air Hotel in the 1940s will also be on the auction, along with an Albert Watsonphotograph of Christy Turlington taken in 1990.
