Later that same month, People magazine named Jackman “Sexiest Man Alive.” A three-time host of the Tony Awards, winning an Emmy Award for one of these appearances, Jackman also hosted the 81st Academy Awards on 22 February 2009. One of his paternal great-grandfathers was Greek. As a child, Jackman liked the outdoors, spending a lot of time at the beach and on camping trips and vacations all over Australia. As a boy, I’d always had an interest in theater. It wasn’t what one did for a living.

Jackman was born in Sydney, New South Wales, the youngest of five children of English parents Chris Jackman and Grace Watson, and the second child to be born in Australia (he also has a younger half sister, from his mother’s re-marriage). He later commented, “In that week I felt more at home with those people than I did in the entire three years “. After obtaining his BA, Jackman completed the one-year course “The Journey” at the Actors’ Centre in Sydney. Everyone was cooler, everyone seemed more likely to succeed, everyone seemed more natural at it and in retrospect I think that is good.

He wanted to see the world: “I used to spend nights looking at atlases. Because I’d been on a plane and there was food on board, I presumed there was a chef. To prepare, he watched Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies and Mel Gibson in Road Warrior. An instant star upon the film’s release, Jackman later reprised his role in 2003′s X2: X-Men United, 2006′s X-Men: The Last Stand, and 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Jackman plays a Victorian English duke who accidentally time-travels to 21st-century Manhattan, where he meets Kate (Meg Ryan), a cynical advertising executive.

Hugh Jackman planning Concerts in London

Hugh Jackman about the concerts in London: I just want them to be fun. I feel like I should have a whisky in my hand, like Dean Martin, and then get Robbie Williams to come on and join me.

The Australian actor Hugh Jackman is planning a series of ”fun” Sunday night concerts in London. The X-Men star is planning to sing in London later this year, and he wants bad boy Robbie Williams to join him. He has recently staged a show in Toronto, where he sang a number of show tunes from Oklahoma!, Carousel and Dreamgirls.

“I wanted to create a show where I can’t wait to do it,” he told British newspaper The Daily Mail.

“I loved that ‘anything can happen’, relaxed feel about Sinatra - and viewing Peter Allen’s tapes also taught me a lot. We’re planning to do some Sunday night concerts when I’m in London in the spring-the actor revealed.

Hugh Jackman plans to do the concerts when he takes a break from starring in the film version of musical ‘Les Miserables’.

The Les Misérables is being directed by Tom Hooper and will see Hugh portraying Jean Valjean. The character is a former convict seeking redemption, and the story follows him as he tries to carve out a new life.

“I got cast early, because there was another movie I could do and I didn’t want to wait and get to November to find I had no movie at all. I told them that and I eventually got it”-Hugh Jackman explained how much the part meant to him .
